The NorrDia Story
A drive and passion for improving the lives of people who require kidney care is the core of NorrDia.
The founder of NorrDia, Leo Ling, experienced kidney disease in his family at a young
age. Later in life, driven by a passion to improve the lives for patients with kidney
failure, he chose a career within Gambro, and subsequently also Baxter.
During his time at Gambro, Leo met the second founder of NorrDia, Theodor
Sandström, who shared the same passion.
After Leo´s 15-year journey in Gambro and Baxter, Leo and Theodor met up again in
2019 and further discussed an opportunity to introduce new renal products in both
chronic and critical care.
In 2021 the duo founded NorrDia and Klas Arildsson (former Gambro executive and
Chairman of Gambro Lundia AB), joined the company as the chairman. The initial
focus was research, development, and sales of a total solution for Continuous Renal
Replacement Therapy (CRRT); to accelerate the plan, more people with experience
from acute and chronic renal care joined the team. All brought in the industry
expertise from either Gambro or Baxter, sharing the passion and joining the same
Mission.

The set-up resulted in a promising development portfolio. In parallel, Leo also successfully engaged several institutional investors for supporting the journey. It was at this time Tianyi entered NorrDia as the main shareholder. Tianyi is a public Chinese medical device company mainly focusing on production of consumables, the majority shareholders are the father and son, Zhimin Wu and Sam Wu. The relationship between the two companies creates an exciting opportunity for NorrDia to realize its mission.
